Gary Matthews blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Los Angeles Dodgers
outscored the Atlanta Braves 10 to 7.

Matthews had a big evening at the plate.  He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 2nd inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his
15th of the season) in the 4th inning.  Atlanta was out-hit by Los Angeles,
16 hits to 9.

The winning pitcher was Burt Hooton(8-4) who allowed 5 runs in 7 innings.
Hooton got help from Tom Burgmeier who earned his 12th save.  Mike
Marshall(3-4) ended up with the loss in relief.

The Los Angeles ballclub's record now stands at 36-42.  With this loss,
Atlanta has a 5-5 record of late, 41-37 overall.
