Bobby Murcer ripped 2 homeruns as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Los
Angeles Dodgers 4 to 3 at Candlestick Park.
 
Reggie Cleveland(7-6) was solid in relief, and he got credit for the win.  He
allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk in 2 innings.  San Francisco managed only 5 on
the night. 
 
The loss was charged to Tom Burgmeier(2-4) in relief.  He allowed 1 run and 1
hit in 1 inning.

Burt Hooton(10-4) and John Montefusco(6-8) treated the San Francisco fans to a
fine pitching duel at Candlestick Park.  The Los Angeles Dodgers eventually
emerged as victors over the San Francisco Giants by the score of 3 to
1.
 
Hooton delivered a fine performance for Hooton.  He was reached for 6 hits and
1 walk in 6 and 2/3 innings.  Hooton got relief help from Tom Burgmeier who
was excellent in relief and gained credit for his 15th save.
