The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Los Angeles came out the victor in the 15th inning. Ron Cey doubled. After an out was recorded, Davey Lopes came to the plate and reached on an error. Henry Cruz was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Dusty Baker was up next and he banged out a single making Los Angeles the winners and sending the 22,879 fans home happy. Both teams ended up with 11 on the afternoon.
