Steve Garvey had 2 base hits at Jarry Park as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the
Montreal Expos by the count of 3 to 1.
 
Los Angeles jumped on top to stay in the 2nd inning scoring one runner.  Los
Angeles finished with 7 hits in the victory. 
 
Dick Ruthven(6-9) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing
1 run. Tom Murphy gained credit for his 2nd save.  Steve Rogers(8-10) ended
up with the loss.

First baseman Cliff Johnson slammed a homerun and scored 3 times asthe
Montreal Expos topped the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 7 to 6 at Jarry
Park.
 
Elias Sosa(2-2) earned the victory with a fine relief performance.  No one got
on base in his 1 and 1/3 innings.  Los Angeles threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short. 
 
Dale Murray was credited with his 19th save. Tom Burgmeier(2-5) suffered the
loss in relief.  He pitched 1 inning allowing 4 hits and 1 walk.

Montreal promptly took the lead in their half of the first plating an isolated
run.  That scoring would be all that was needed.  Montreal had 8 hits
overall, while Los Angeles had 3. 
 
Stanhouse(6-7) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Joe
Kerrigan got the save, his 1st.  Tommy John(9-5) was tagged with the loss.

Jarry Park.
 
Los Angeles was unable to claim the lead after Montreal went ahead in the
bottom of the 2nd inning plating an isolated run utilizing 2 base hits.  That
was all the offense they were to need.  Both teams totaled 8 on the
afternoon. 
 
Larry Christenson(5-7) got the win allowing 2 runs in 7 innings. Rick
Rhoden(6-8) was tagged with the loss.  He surrendered 6 runs and 8 hits in 6
innings.
