San Francisco came up with 3 runs in the 7th inning. The highlight belonged to Briggs who quieted the home crowd when he doubled plating two runs. San Francisco ended up with 12 hits for the game while Montreal had 9.
The win was credited to Jim Barr(8-9) who went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs. Randy Moffitt recorded his 12th save. Joe Kerrigan(0-4) was given the loss in relief. He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 2 innings of work.

San Francisco was unable to claim the lead after Montreal went ahead in the 3rd inning scoring 3 runners on 4 hits. That was all the offense they were to need. Montreal totaled 15 on the afternoon.
The victory was credited to Rogers(11-10) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs. John Montefusco(7-11) was the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 4 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.
