Bruce Kison pitched a complete game shutout and Bill Robinson blasted 3
homeruns and had 7 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates smashed the overmatched
Atlanta Braves, 10 to 0.

Robinson was unconscious out there. While Atlanta pitching was serving
softballs up there for him to hit, the Atlanta fans were serving up some
hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel
for the fire. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 2nd inning, bombed a
two-run dinger in the 3rd inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence (his
17th of the season) in the 5th inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in
the 9th inning. Pittsburgh banged out 14 on the night.

It was the 2nd shutout of the year for Kison(9-4). Doyle Alexander(6-8)
absorbed the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 7 innings.

'I felt great out there tonight' Robinson said. 'I was seeing the ball
perfectly, and I was right on it with my swing.

Jerry Reuss had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the
Atlanta Braves by a score of 10 to 5 at Fulton Co. Stadium.

Pittsburgh brought 4 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning with the help of
5 hits. The highlight belonged to Reuss who silenced the stadium when he
stroked a one-base hit scoring two baserunners. Due to a poorly pitched
ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still not enough for Atlanta to
come away with the victory.

The winning pitcher was Reuss(6-8) who allowed 5 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings.
The loss was charged to Max Leon(1-3). Pittsburgh scored big getting 7 runs
off him in 4 innings.
