july 23 Second baseman Duane Kuiper collected 3 extra-base hits and had 3 RBI and Steve Rogers mowed down 10 Los Angeles batters at Olympic Stadium where the Montreal Expos beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7 to 6. The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Kuiper. He doubled in the 3rd inning, tripled which was good for two runs in the 4th inning and doubled resulting in a run in the 6th inning. Due to a poorly pitched ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still not enough for Los Angeles to come away with the victory. Rogers(14-5) went 8 innings allowing 6 runs for the win. Steve Foucault got the save, his 25th. The losing pitcher was Rick Rhoden(8-8). Montreal scored big getting 6 runs off him in 4 innings. 'Everything felt great' Rogers said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody tonight.'
