Jerry Reuss shut down the Montreal batters on just 3 hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Montreal Expos by a score of 6 to 0.
Reuss(9-12) was virtually untouchable. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 3 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 4.55 to 4.33. Pittsburgh totaled 8 on the night.
The losing pitcher was Don Hood(5-3). 'He was moving it around and spotting it very well.' Steve Bivens said. Reuss pitched a great game. He deserves all the credit.' |
