Montreal had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 3 runs. After an out was recorded, Elias Sosa started the attack as he reached on an error. Ivan Dejesus stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk. Dan Ford then clubbed a three-run home run (his 1st of the season) resulting in an exciting win for Montreal and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Los Angeles scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory. The win was credited to Sosa(1-1) who went 1 inning allowing 1 run. Don Kirkwood(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. By giving up 7 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings his ERA increased from 5.40 to 15.43.
