Francisco the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.  San
Francisco rapped out 7 hits for the night.

The winning pitcher was Doug Bair(1-1) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.

In a dramatic ending the Los Angeles Dodgers staged a comeback and held on to
win over the San Francisco Giants by the count of 2 to 1.

Los Angeles had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning with 2
runs.  Ron Cey led off the inning for Los Angeles when he drew a walk.  One
out later, Steve Garvey dug into the batters box next, but he struck out.
Lee Lacy then blasted a two-run home run (his 2nd of the season).  The teams
had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.

Joe Kerrigan(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Lance Rautzhan
earned his 1st save.  Doug Bair(1-2) was the losing pitcher in relief.

Billy Vanson was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win
it in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up.  And did you see the
fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win this afternoon!'
