april 27 Second baseman Joe Morgan hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers by the score of 5 to 2 at Riverfront Stadium. Cincinnati came up with all the runs they needed in the 8th inning scoring 5 runners on 4 hits. The highlight belonged to Morgan who electrified Riverfront Stadium when he bombed a two-run dinger (his 4th of the season). The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning. Manny Sarmiento(1-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Joe Kerrigan(1-2) took the loss in relief. Cincinnati now has a record of 12-10. With the loss, Los Angeles has a record of 6-4 lately, 11-11 overall.
