april 27

Second baseman Joe Morgan hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI as the
Cincinnati Reds defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers by the score of 5 to 2 at
Riverfront Stadium.

Cincinnati came up with all the runs they needed in the 8th inning scoring 5
runners on 4 hits.  The highlight belonged to Morgan who electrified
Riverfront Stadium when he bombed a two-run dinger (his 4th of the season).
The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.

Manny Sarmiento(1-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Joe
Kerrigan(1-2) took the loss in relief.  Cincinnati now has a record of 12-10.
With the loss, Los Angeles has a record of 6-4 lately, 11-11 overall.
