SEPT 10

In a great finish the Los Angeles Dodgers came back in the top of the ninth
and held on to win over the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 4 to 3 at
Riverfront Stadium.

Los Angeles came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning with 3 runs
utilizing 2 base hits.  After two were out Ken Henderson started the rally
when he drew a walk.  Davey Lopes was next and he stroked a base-hit.  John
D'Acquisto then let loose a wild pitch.  Dusty Baker was up next and he drew
a walk to load the bases.  Reggie Baldwin stepped into the box and stroked a
one-base hit, and an error was also committed, with all three runners coming
home.  Both teams finished the game with 4 hits.

Bob Welch(7-5) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Terry Forster
earned his 18th save.  The losing pitcher was D'Acquisto(5-5) in relief.

D'Acquisto was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get
away.  What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans.  One
minute things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I
get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'
