One run was the difference at Municipal Stadium as the Chicago AL White Sox
defeated the Kansas City A's 4 to 3.
 
Chicago AL jumped on top to stay in the 6th inning scoring a single run.
Kansas City had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. 
 
The victory went to Joel Horlen(14-6) who went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs.
Horlen got help from Bob Locker who was credited with his 11th save.  Blue
Moon Odom(0-5) absorbed the loss.

The Kansas City A's nipped the Chicago AL White Sox in 12 innings 3 to 2 at
Municipal Stadium in a hard fought contest.
 
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings.  Kansas City came out
the victor in the 12th inning.  After an out was recorded, Danny Cater laced
a single.  Bert Campaneris was next and he delivered a single.  Campaneris
was running on the next pitch and he stole second.  Clay Dalrymple followed
and he lined a base-hit giving Kansas City the win much to the delight of the
home town crowd.  Kansas City had a total of 8 hits for the game. 
 
Ken Sanders(3-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Jack
Kralick(6-5) was hit with the loss in relief.  He allowed 3 hits and no walks
in 1/3 of an inning.

The Chicago AL White Sox defeated the Kansas City A's by a score of 5 to 2 at
Municipal Stadium.
 
Chicago AL erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning with 3 runs
utilizing 3 base hits.  Chuck Harrison led off the inning for Chicago AL when
he banged out a single.  Johnny Romano stepped up next and he smashed a
two-run homer (his 16th of the season).  Floyd Robinson then drew a walk.
Pete Ward came up and he stroked a base-hit.  One out later, Joe Morgan
stepped up to the plate and he hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the
inning.  The Kansas City offense proved no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
 
Dennis Higgins(4-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Paul
Lindblad(3-6) was charged with the loss in relief.  He allowed 3 hits and 1
walk in 1 inning.

The Kansas City A's defeated the Chicago AL White Sox by a score of 5 to 2 at
Municipal Stadium.
 
Al Luplow helped send the fans home happy.  He blasted a solo shot (his 3rd of
the season) in the 2nd inning, doubled which scored a run in the 4th inning
and smacked a single which plated a run in the 6th inning.  Kansas City
managed only 6 on the afternoon. 
 
Dave Wickersham(4-8) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Jack
Aker gained credit for his 10th save.  Jack Lamabe(1-2) absorbed the loss.
