Dave Stewart came through with a solid 4 innings and third baseman Ron Cey went deep and had 3 RBI as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants in 14 innings by a score of 6 to 5.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Los Angeles won the hard fought contest in the 14th inning. Joe Nolan doubled. After an out was recorded, Chet Lemon came up and he smacked a single resulting in a mighty exciting win for Los Angeles and the 40,797 home town fans in attendance. Los Angeles had 17 hits for the night while San Francisco had 10.
Alejandro Pena(5-2) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Dave Goltz(2-2) was tagged with the loss in relief. He gave up 1 run and 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning.

Bob Knepper went 7 strong innings as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5 to 3 at DODGER STADIUM.
