JUNE 24 Jack Clark went deep at Candlestick Park where the San Francisco Giants beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 8 to 6. Los Angeles never recovered after San Francisco took the lead in the 4th inning scoring 2 runners on 3 hits. Both teams ended up with 11 on the night. The win went to Bill Laskey(3-5) who allowed 6 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings. Greg Minton earned his 11th save. Dave Stewart(5-4) was hit with the loss in relief. He was touched for 5 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings. 'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were getting awfully grim,' noted Bob Mittleman. 'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together and turn things around!'
