July 5 Center fielder Cesar Geronimo slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI at Riverfront Stadium where the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds by the score of 6 to 2. Los Angeles scored 4 runs in the 7th inning when they had 4 base hits. The highlight belonged to Geronimo who silenced the crowd when he belted a three-run homer (his 3rd of the season). Los Angeles finished with 13 hits while Cincinnati ended up with 7. The victory was credited to Bob Welch(8-6) who went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs. The losing pitcher was Frank Pastore(5-8).
