Center fielder Cesar Geronimo slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI at Riverfront
Stadium where the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds by the score
of 6 to 2.
 
Los Angeles scored 4 runs in the 7th inning when they had 4 base hits.  The
highlight belonged to Geronimo who silenced the crowd when he belted a
three-run homer (his 3rd of the season).  Los Angeles finished with 13 hits
while Cincinnati ended up with 7. 
 
The victory was credited to Bob Welch(8-6) who went 7 innings, allowing 2
runs. The losing pitcher was Frank Pastore(5-8).  He gave up 3 runs and 9
hits in 6 innings.

In a good matchup it was the CiDodgers 3 at
Riverfront Stadium.
 
Los Angeles never recovered after Cincinnati took the lead in the bottom of
the 7th inning when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits.  Brad Lesley was perfect
in the ninth giving him his 7th save on the season. 
 
The victory was credited to Joe Price(2-5) who went 4 innings, allowing no
runs. Fernando Valenzuela(14-7) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 7 hits
and 1 walk in 8 innings.

Ron Cey slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the
Cincinnati Reds by a score of 10 to 4.
 
Cey led the offense for Los Angeles. He hit a single in the 4th inning,
smacked a one-base hit which plated a run in the 7th inning and clubbed a
three-run home run (his 16th of the season) in the 8th inning.  For the game
Los Angeles out-hit Cincinnati 14 to 9. 
 
Joe Beckwith(2-1) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Mario Soto(8-8) was given the loss.  He allowed 5 runs and 8 hits in
6 and 2/3 innings.
