July 20 Pedro Guerrero slammed 2 homeruns and Jerry Reuss went 8 strong innings at Fulton Co. Stadium where the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves in 11 innings by the score of 2 to 1. The score was tied at 1 after nine. Finally, Los Angeles pulled the game out in the 11th inning. Guerrero blasted a solo shot (his 21st of the season). Los Angeles had 9 hits for the night. Tom Niedenfuer(4-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing no runs. Niedenfuer got help from Steve Howe who was credited with his 22nd save. Joe Cowley(1-1) was charged with the loss in relief. Los Angeles extended their winning streak to 6 games.
