Padres continue their dominance of the Braves by winning 3 of 4. Padres are now 16-3 on the season vs Braves. Game 1: Braves score the game winner in the 4th on a wild pitch and hold on for a 2-1 win. Padres couldn't get the tying run across despite having 1st and 3rd with 2 out in both the 6th and 7th and 2nd and 3rd with 2 out in the 8th. Game 2: Atlanta returned the favor in this one. Padres put up a 5 spot in the 5th and 2 runs came on back to back passed ball and wild pitch. Braves immediately got 3 back. Templeton scored and insurance run in the 7th and Gossage got his 36th save in the 6-3 win. Game 3: Ruppert Jones' pinch hit ballpark grand slam in the 9th broke open a tight game and the Padres won 7-0. Hammaker allowed just 3 hits in 7 innings before Gossage pitched the last 2 to get save 37. Game 4: This one was all Padres. The Giants highlight was 2 runs on 3 hits in the 9th. Before that they had 2 runs on 2 hits and committed 3 errors. SD pulled off the double double in this one. They scored 14 runs and left 10 men on base. Templeton was 4-5, McReynolds and Martinez went 3-5 and Kennedy went 2-6 with 4 rbi to lead the offense. Gerald Davis made his debut and had a single in the 9th for the Padres in the 14-4 win.
