The Minnesota Twins bested the Milwaukee Brewers in 10 innings by a 6 to 2

score at County Stadium.

The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Minnesota won the hard fought

contest in the 10th inning. The key offensive moment was provided by Chili

Davis who helped quiet the crowd when he depressed the partisan hometown fans

with a grand slam home run. Minnesota managed 9 hits in their victory.

The win went to Gary Wayne(2-0) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Dan

Plesac(0-3) was tagged with the loss in relief. Minnesota knocked him around

a bit, as he gave up 3 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Left fielder Luis Polonia had 3 base hits as the Minnesota Twins defeated the

Milwaukee Brewers by the score of 7 to 3 at County Stadium.

Minnesota set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring a single run on

3 hits.  Polonia tripled.  Chuck Knoblauch was a strikeout victim, unable to

help out.  Shane Mack then lined a single.  One out later, Kirby Puckett came

to the plate and smacked a single.  Kent Hrbek came up to bat and drew a walk

to load the bases.  Minnesota had 13 hits overall, while Milwaukee had 6.

Scott Erickson(5-1) got the win allowing 1 run in 5 innings. Willie Banks

earned the save, his 1st.  Chris Bosio(4-3) was hit with the loss.  He was

knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.

John Smiley had an impressive outing as the Minnesota Twins defeated the

Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 4 to 0 at County Stadium.

In the top of the 3rd inning Minnesota went on top for good scoring a single

run on 2 hits.  That early scoring held up.  Minnesota had 14 hits for the

night while Milwaukee had 6.

Smiley(5-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 7 innings. The loss was

charged to Bill Krueger(3-2).  He allowed 2 runs and 7 hits in 5 and 2/3

innings.
