Cincinnati scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning with 2 runs on 3 hits. George Foster got things going when he doubled. Dave Concepcion followed and he doubled knocking in a run. After an out was recorded, Jerry Grote came up and he laced a single making Cincinnati the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Both teams ended up with 8 on the night. The victory was credited to Rawly Eastwick(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. Dick Drago(0-1) was the loser in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 3 hits in 1 inning. Eastwick and Concepcion were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come from behind victory. As Alan Boodman noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
