sept 4 Ron Cey smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as thestrong Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants by the score of 11 to 4 at Candlestick Park. Cey enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He delivered a solo blast in the 2nd inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 30th of the season) in the 8th inning and delivered a base-hit in the 9th inning. Los Angeles had 16 hits overall, while San Francisco had 13. Bill Champion(4-1) went 6 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Marty Pattin recorded his 3rd save. Jim Barr(15-11) was the loser. The winning ways continue for Los Angeles. They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days. Not able to get much going in recent weeks, San Francisco is 2-8 of late and now has an overall record of 63-84.
