Ron Cey smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as thestrong Los Angeles Dodgers
defeated the San Francisco Giants by the score of 11 to 4 at Candlestick
Park.

Cey enjoyed a big evening at the plate.  He delivered a solo blast in the 2nd
inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 30th of the season) in the 8th
inning and delivered a base-hit in the 9th inning.  Los Angeles had 16 hits
overall, while San Francisco had 13.

Bill Champion(4-1) went 6 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Marty Pattin
recorded his 3rd save.  Jim Barr(15-11) was the loser.  The winning ways
continue for Los Angeles.  They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days.  Not
able to get much going in recent weeks, San Francisco is 2-8 of late and now
has an overall record of 63-84.

The reeling San Francisco Giants pitching coach might be looking for anew job
soon.  His team allowed 11 runs while Bill Butler(1-1)with the help of the
bullpen surrendered 3 runs to San Francisco in a laugher.

Los Angeles promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they scored
2 runs on 3 hits.  For the game Los Angeles out-hit San Francisco 12 to 5.

Reggie Cleveland(8-9) was given the loss.  He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 7 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.  The winning ways continue for Los
Angeles.  They now have a record of 9-1 in recent days.  San Francisco can't
seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'.  Now they have a miserable 1-9
record over the last couple weeks.
