The Los Angeles Dodgers were finally were able to get back on the winner's
track and cruised to a 10 to 3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch
Stadium.

Los Angeles brought 4 runs across the plate in the 7th inning with the help of
6 hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Steve Garvey who quieted the
home crowd when he laced a base-knock bringing in two baserunners.  Overall
Los Angeles out-hit St. Louis 14 to 7.

The win was credited to Burt Hooton(4-1) who went 6 innings allowing 3 runs.

Hooton said.  'It's great to be back on the winning side of things.'

Rusty Torres hit 2 doubles as the St. Louis Cardinalsbeat the Los Angeles
Dodgers by a score of 3 to 0.

Los Angeles never recovered after St. Louis took the lead in the bottom of the
2nd inning scoring one runner on 3 hits.  That was all the runs Lynn
McGlothen(2-4) needed.  After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score.

McGlothen got relief help from Al Hrabosky who gained credit for his 6th save.
Tommy John(4-2) was the loser.  He gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3
innings.
